In-Office Animal Care & Intake Training

Description

This training prepares volunteers for both intake and in-office animal care volunteer opportunities. You must be 18+ to volunteer for these opportunities.

Requirement: Minimum 1 shift per month

In-Office Animal Care: Even as a foster based rescue there are times when animals are living in our office while they wait to go to their foster homes. Our “Let-Out” Team walks, feeds, administers medication and cleans kennels for the dogs and cats staying in the office. Daily shifts are: 6AM, 11AM, 4PM & 9PM.

Intake: Intake volunteers help welcome animals into The BB for the first time! This position includes activities like: filling foster supply requests, setting up crates and kennel runs, getting dogs from the transport van and into their designated crate or kennel run, making sure dogs get to photography and vetting in the specified order, taking dogs out to our "potty area", cleaning dogs off as needed, cleaning crates, kennel runs, and the transport van, laundry, dishes, sweeping and mopping at the end of the shift. We do also leave room for lots of kisses and selfies! All dog shifts occur on the weekends other than cat intakes on Wednesday evenings.
