This three and a half hour session will introduce you to the work flow of the Kennel Assistant position. After a welcome and brief history of The Bond Between, we will focus on familiarizing you with the following responsibilities of the position:
Assist with incoming foster returns and owner surrenders
Assist with sending dogs/cats to foster
Assist fosters with supplies, harness sizing, other recommendations
Helping with Let Outs and Cat Care when needed
Condo, Kennel clean up/set up
Help with meds when necessary
Animal Enrichment( playing, brushing, snuggling, walking ,and hanging out with cats and dogs.
Prep in-office enrichment supplies
Assist Office Manager with any other animal focused tasks
Following this overview, we will do a tour of the facility. At that time, we will partner you up with experienced Office or Kennel Assistant volunteers so you can get a little On-The-Job training. After you are done, you will be encouraged to sign up for a shift. We will try to match you up with an experienced Kennel Assistant or you will work with one of the Office Managers..
Please note: You must be 18 years or older to volunteer for this opportunity. Unfortunately, those under 18, even when accompanied by an adult, are not able to work this shift.
