Volunteer: Chanhassen Turkey Trot 5K – Volunteer 11/27/2025 (8:20 AM - 11:00 AM)

Help us run a Turkey Trot! Okay, you don't actually have to run - but, we are looking for 35+ volunteers for the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning at Chanhassen High School! We are their premier charity and every volunteer that signs up adds to the donation we will receive! 


When – Thursday, November 27th, 2025, from 8:20 am – 11:00 am

Where – Chanhassen High School, 2200 Lyman Blvd. Chanhassen, MN 55317

Job Descriptions:

Course Marshal – Course marshals will be placed on the course (in pairs of two minimum) and help direct the participants so they run the correct way. Here we ask the volunteers to be as enthusiastic as possible encouraging the runners to have a good time.


Water Station – Volunteers assigned to the water station will fill up cups of water and help distribute them to passing participants.


Post-race Food- All participants will receive a donut at the finish line! Volunteers will be asked to help set up and distribute food as participants cross the finish line. Shirt exchanging will also be going on, which is allowed after the race as long as they didn’t run in it.


*Volunteers will more than likely work more than one job throughout the event.

Ready to make a tangible difference in your community? Join our team as a Food Shelf Volunteer! Training with our trainer Joan will prepare you for the core duties of this essential, yet non-glamorous, role. You'll be the friendly face who helps our shoppers navigate the shopping area and select appropriate food and supplies while adhering to the daily limits. This position also involves important physical work like restocking shelves to keep our operation running smoothly. While the tasks are straightforward and sometimes mundane, the reward is immense: you'll be directly supporting people and their beloved pets during tough times, offering a path to stability and hope. It's truly meaningful work that requires dedication and a desire to help.

Please go to the back door through the parking lot of 2501 Minnehaha Ave. Ring the doorbell and Joan will meet you. Excited to have you on the team!

Volunteer: Prior vetting experience (tech/assistant, etc.)? Volunteer at intake!

Every week, we have multiple animal intakes a week where we welcome both cats and dogs into rescue, complete general vetting and get photos taken for their adoption profiles. If you are interested in working hands-on with the animals, intake is for you!

Intake Exam Manager - is responsible for completing the exam, administering vaccines/microchips/blood draw if necessary and dosing dewormer/preventatives. 

If you have previous vetting experience in any capacity, please respond to this opportunity and someone will reach out to you with more information!
